The 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed shall be devoted to Porsche, celebrating 70 years because the 356 used to be introduced.
Gerry Judah will design the central sculpture for the development, which runs from July 12 to July 15 at Goodwood House, West Sussex.
This marks the 3rd time Porsche has been featured on the Festival of Speed – the emblem’s 50th anniversary used to be honored in 1998, and the 911 grew to become 50 in 2013.
Along with the Stuttgart-centric sculpture, the Festival of Speed will rejoice Porsche with a devoted hillclimb tournament. World Sportscar Championship and Le Mans winners shall be on display, working along rally-prepped 911 racers.
“We thought long and hard about how best to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our sports car and how we could share this with enthusiasts, Porsche fans and owners here in the UK,” stated Alexander Pollich, managing director of Porsche Great Britain.
“The Goodwood Festival of Speed will be the perfect setting – allowing the cars that, over seven decades, have made Porsche so unique and so special, to be seen, and heard, in action. Watching a 917 twitch and weave its way past the flint wall is a highlight that I’m very much looking forward to this July.”
Although punters gained’t be in a position to pressure a Porsche up the driveway at Goodwood, they’ll be in a position to get up-close and private with the present Porsche vary – and check their talents on race simulators, naturally.
